Hayling Ladies' Golf Club had another terrific entry in our 2010 Centenary Salver on Thursday 2 September.
Thirty-six Hampshire clubs entered this year and we were blessed with wonderful weather. The competition was completed in less time than usual this year due to the innovation of getting the scores for the first nine holes back to the clubhouse in record time, enabling the 2nd groups to go off whilst the first pairs were on the 10th hole.
Rosemary Grindle was the lady in charge, and she and her team did a fantastic job, and we received many kind words from teams about the excellent organisation of the event, and of the quality of the course.
This year's Centenary Salver was won for the first time by Sandford Springs. Their team captain Mandy Blunden gave a touching speech, dedicating the victory to her late father, Brian Willetts who had been a member of Hayling Golf Club in the past.
Second place was taken by Stoneham, who were last year's winners, third place winners were Hayling Ladies, and in fourth place were Corhampton.
Below is a slideshow of the four winning team, and there is also a .pdf of the results to download.
