RULES REMINDER - TEMPORARY GREENS (HLGC contact - Carron Schusler)
During this cold spell there will be times where we are playing to temporary greens. When this happens, the ‘normal putting green’ for a hole (where a temporary green is being used) becomes a ‘wrong green’.
If your ball lands on a ‘wrong green’ you MUST take relief and NOT play the ball as it lies. In other words you must remove your ball from the ‘normal green' that is out of play.
You need to find the nearest point of complete relief (that means neither you, or your club or your ball are on the ‘wrong green’) not nearer the hole - mark the REFERENCE point where your ball would be. Your RELIEF AREA is then within one club length in any direction from the reference point not nearer the hole (i.e. a one club arc).
When you have established your relief area, drop your ball (from knee height) into the relief area.
If you do not take relief and play your ball from the ‘wrong green’ you will be subject to a two shot penalty.
